GTMA Gala Dinner - September 11, 2008
"Today is all about community," was how Richard White began his speech, at the 1st annual Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance GTMA) Celebrity Golf Tournament, held on Thursday, September 11th, 2008 at the prestigious Copper Creek Golf Club. Gracious Living was the proud title sponsor for a select group of celebrities, civic leaders, dignitaries and GTMA partners all who came together to play golf, network and raise money to help provide economic development internship opportunities for GTA universities and colleges. The golf tournament celebrated the 10th anniversary of the GTMA.
The night marked the introduction of Gracious Living's new initiative and line of products under the Environmentally Friendly Resin (EFR) brand. Richard continued his speech by saying "this brand will give retailers and customers a greener alternative to the plastic products they currently purchase. By using materials that would otherwise be destined for landfill and reintroducing them into our manufacturing streams, we are producing EFR products that you will soon be seeing on the shelves of retailers near you."
That night some of the new EFR products were unveiled to all those who were gathered. Richard appealed to the audience for support indicating that "in this day and age, development of new products and growth of any business, can no longer be at the expense of the environment, and as community leaders, it is our responsibility to ensure a greener future."
New EFR totes unveiled. The night also had Vito Galloro, our Executive Vice President, accepting an award on behalf of Gracious Living for Economics innovation. This award shined a spotlight on Gracious Living, and our efforts towards becoming a greener company and improving the world around us. The award was presented to us by Baudry Cybernomics ® Corporation, a company that deals with environmental sustainability in the selection, engineering and adoption of technology.
The new Environmentally Friendly Resin brand of products uses the post consumer recycled products that normally go into our recycle bins. These products fill our community landfills, where they would remain for years to come. The EFR brand uses these very same products, but converts them into new-finished goods, thus reducing what gets left in the landfills. The stacking totes shown above are just the beginning. There are plans to expand our product line with the inclusion of EFR versions of some of our current and more popular products. These products will allow each and every person to do their part in improving the world we live in.
A special thanks goes out to all those involved in the event both in the foreground and background.
